***Program note: OK, folks, here's the deal. Next week is my 100th show (yay), and I'd like to enlist your help in compiling next week's theme. I've asked some family and friends to help provide song titles that fit this configuration: "______ in the ______." Some examples: Summer in the City by the Lovin' Spoonful, Stuck in the Middle with You by Stealers Wheel, Back in the High Life Again by Steve Winwood...If you've listened to my show in the past (and if you're reading this blog, I imagine you have), you know that almost anything goes on my show, so lots of different musical genres are represented, from pop, rock, jazz, R&B, world music, country, be creative and brainstorm some titles for me, and I'll try to fit at least one of your choices into next week's show. Email me your choices (and let me know which of those you might prefer, if you like) by this coming Saturday to I've already received some great suggestions; add yours to the mix! --Marc

This is an 'encore' presentation. It comes from two different shows--4/15/07 and 11/5/06.

As I say at the beginning of the show, it also includes out-of season weather forecasts, announcements for events that have already happened, a teaser for Sunday Sampler content that just will not be, and outdated topical references that are bound to confuse the listener.

I thank you. --MM

...Ants Marching--Dave Matthews Band
Le Roi Des Fourmis--Michel Polnareff
Antmusic--Adam and the Ants
Michael Mills talks about "Adam and the Ant" and Bow Wow Wow
Baby, Oh No--Bow Wow Wow

If I get a chance in the future, I'll try and play that Michael Mills's an amusing time trip back to the days when religious folks were on the lookout for 'satanic music' and one of the ways to get people to hear how satanic this music was, was to naturally, play the 45 rpm songs at 33 1/3 rpm (often rendering the lyrics even MORE unintelligible)...and of course those songs suddenly sound more evil, with those slowed-down voices and such..."Baby, Oh No" is my favorite song of Bow Wow Wow's...just great rhythmic pop, (of course, it has that satanic Burundi beat!) with a melody that sounds like updated girl group at its base, really.
